A Lifetime of Hard Work
Glenn Nielsen grew up in a small midwestern farm town, learning to work hard alongside his father in a welding and machine shop. That foundation shaped everything that came after.
He joined the Navy, trained in nuclear engineering, and served aboard a submarine out of Groton, Connecticut. After an honorable discharge, Glenn returned to the midwest to work at a commercial nuclear power plant and stay close to family.
He later transitioned into computer programming, built a small software business, and moved into internet services. Through all of it, he never forgot how much he loved New England during his Navy years.
When it came time to retire, New Hampshire made sense — no income tax, no sales tax, and a community that reflects his conservative values. Glenn and his wife Niva now live in Northfield with their daughter Myrtle and their puppy Milo. From military service to small business ownership, Glenn brings real experience — and he's ready to put it to work for the people of Northfield.
The Fight for Northfield
Real experience, clear priorities, and a commitment to protecting the New Hampshire advantage.
Cost of Living
Limited housing supply, inflation, energy and property taxes are all driving up the cost of living in the Granite State. A good start was made in 2026 by streamlining permitting for new construction and passing HB1300 to let voters limit local school property tax increases — but much more can be done.
Health Care
Health care is also driving up living costs — not just price, but limited provider choices and long wait times. We need policies that make New Hampshire attractive to health care professionals and create new services, including expanding access to health sharing memberships and direct primary care.
The NH Advantage
Continue implementing policies that expand New Hampshire's advantage as a place to live, work and raise a family. Reduce spending, remove burdensome regulations, and cut taxes so families and businesses can thrive.
